Developing Writing And Speaking Skills

It may be our professional front or the personal life, communication is an integral part of our lives. Communication is carried out both in verbal and non verbal forms, commonly known as writing and speaking. People need to have skills related to it so that they are enabling to communicate their ideas and thought clearly and effectively. They message should be communicated in such a manner that it is able to send the information, motivate, clarify the situation, influence the reader or listener and is able to persuade.

Developing writing and speaking skills is as essential as practicing any other talent and it is to be remembered that this is not an easy task. As a miscommunication may create plenty of problems both for the sender and receiver of information.

A person who is able to write or speak effectively can be a more powerful communicator and hence be able to separate him or herself from others. Those who would have a blend of both would be a true standout amongst others. These skills do not remain at any one place, they go with the person holding these skills.
There are some of the basic aspects which the communicator should keep in mind while developing these skills. Person should ensure that that he or she is prepared before giving the message and the message is clear. Preparation is one aspect which is not given much importance, but the fact is that it is one of the most important factors in influencing the success of communication.
Then it is essential to keep the message in simple manner and have vividness in delivering the message or information. The message should also be concise and person who is the speaker or writer has to be natural.

When the message is delivered orally, meaning a speech is to be given, the speaker should set the time of the meeting or the presentation much in advance so that he or she gets enough time to prepare for the entire communication process.

There is one hindrance in the minds of people which stops them from developing writing and speaking skills. Fluent speakers of any language assure that since they are able to speak effectively, they would surely have competency in writing too and the vice a versa for competent writers. But they need to remember that these are two different skills sometimes have to be specifically taught then only a person may be able to develop writing and speaking skills.
